Learn the Negative Astrology Characteristics

Many, many articles have been written to help people understand the characteristics of the signs of the zodiac. Most discuss the positive traits of each sign, but wherever we have good, we have bad. We could not understand cold if we did not have hot. We would not recognize love if we never experienced hate. So too there are opposite traits evident in each of the astrological signs. Just as we have discussed all the positive characteristics of each sign, the negative characteristics should be discussed as well. Aries: Self Centered, Poor Planners, Hot Tempered

Since Aries is the first zodiac sign, Aries people are astrological babies. That is why everything is about “me, me, me.” You could be dying and your Aries companion will still be going on and on, not even noticing you are having a problem. They are a bit self- absorbed and do not really listen to other people when they are speaking. Do not be surprised when you ask their opinion about whatever your important dilemma is, and just get a blank look. Aries people do not understand the concept of forethought, so they never plan ahead. It’s up to whoever they are with at the time to make plans or prepare for contingencies. Aries people say whatever is on their minds; they just blurt things out before they think. They have bad temper tantrums. Then they cannot understand what is wrong with you and why you are upset with them. They think they are right all the time.

Taurus: Passive- Aggressive, Lazy, Stubborn

Taurus is ruled by the Bull, and bulls mostly like to rest in the shade of a nice tree for long periods each day. So your Taurus friend is a tad lazy, and will try to get by with doing as little work as possible. If they can get someone else to do it, that’s even better. Taurus people like to get their own way, and will not budge an inch. They are as stubborn as mules. But since gentle Venus is their ruler, they go about it so sweetly they can catch you unaware. And if they do not want to do a certain thing, be prepared for the passive aggressive approach. They are masters at it. Taureans will act really kind, give you that calm smile, and gently continue not doing whatever it is they were supposed to do. Taurus people have a great love of beauty, art, music, and the opposite sex. But they tend to try to ignore the harsher realities of life, and guess who has to face them? You. Gemini: Can't Keep Secrets, Superficial, Talks Too Much

Gemini people love to talk, talk talk. If you have a secret, do not tell them, unless you want the whole world to know. Geminis have quick minds and both think and talk about several subjects at one time. This can be confusing to the other people listening, as it is hard to be sure which subject they are talking about when. It can be very hard to keep up, and it will annoy them if you are having trouble. Gemini people are normally in a hurry and do things fast. This gives them nervous stomachs and sometimes headaches, because they are thinking and doing too many things at once. They will be cranky when their minds get frazzled. Also, be aware they are not opposed to telling the occasional white lie if you find out they exposed your secret, or if they slipped and said the wrong thing and do not want to take responsibility for it. Geminis can be fickle and superficial.

Cancer: Needy, Holds Grudges, Creative

It’s only 6 p.m., and your Cancer friend has already checked in with mom for about the fifth time today. Learn to get used to it, or maybe just include mom in more of your activities. It’s just easier that way. Cancer people are kind and understanding. They will give you all their attention as they listen to your problems, but they expect the same from you. They do not take criticism well at all. If you want to give them advice and you think they are approaching an issue the wrong way, choose your words very carefully. Cancers never forget it if you offend them or someone they love. I hate to say they hold grudges, but they hold grudges. Also, never make a negative comment about their children or loved ones. They can do it, but don’t you dare. They are also big worriers, and can drive you up the wall with all the little things they worry about. They are prone to getting sick easily and require rest, so do not wear them out. It’s mostly because they are so emotional; they just drain themselves. Leo: Self Centered, Stubborn, Arrogant

Leo people act very regal. In fact, sometimes forget they are not really royalty. They are always late when you make plans to go out with them. This is annoying, because your time is valuable too. They love to make a grand entrance because they are such drama queens. Leos are generous and like to throw parties, but it is usually after they have just bought some expensive new toy or room full of furniture. The party is really just an opportunity for them to show it off, not because they want to see you. Like their Lion symbol, Leos love to rest and feel that others should cater to them and do most of the work. This is another fixed sign, so they are also very stubborn and do not like to change their minds. They love to advise others on hairstyles, clothing, home improvement projects, and career, but sometimes forget others have different opinions. It is difficult for a Leo to understand that not everyone thinks the way they do and will not always agree with them. Their arrogance and self-centered attitude can get old fast.

Virgo: Obsessive, Hypochondriacs, Perfectionists

Virgo people are big, big talkers. They can chat away all night. The problem is that they talk about very trivial matters that can drive you crazy. If you go out to lunch, the Virgo can take 15 minutes to compare two kinds of salad dressings and will expect you to sit and listen. They are intelligent and witty, so they can be fun, but they just cannot stop talking when their minds grab onto something. They are big worriers and hypochondriacs and will also worry about chemicals and ingredients of medications. They're likely take about 20 kinds of vitamin supplements for all sorts of reasons, deciding they are safe because they are “natural.” Even so, they will have lyme disease, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, and several other health-related problems every day. Never let them read medical books or see commercials about any disease, or they will think they have that too. Virgos vent about the things they need to do, instead of just doing them. The issue is that by the time they waste so much time venting, the work or problem could have been finished. Some Virgos can seem prissy. They are always very neatly dressed. In a working environment, every document must be perfect, every folder in order, and each paper clip in place. Virgos insist on a neat and clean environment, but they lack the sense to see that some situations do not require so much attention. They are too critical, as we cannot all be as perfect as they are.

Libra: Vain, Irresponsible with Money, Passive-Aggressive

Libra people are also ruled by Venus, so they want life to be pleasant and for their days to pass by smoothly. This is nice, but they will hold in their feelings if you do something to upset them because they want to avoid what could be an unpleasant conversation. They do not want to rock the boat. Their sense of balance is important to them. Because Libra people want to fit in and be liked, they are easily influenced and must learn they should not always go along with the crowd if it is wrong for them. They have a deep love of beauty, and both the men and women love fashion and nice clothing. This also means they will flirt with anyone they think looks good. They also like good furniture and like to live in beautifully decorated homes. They can be manipulative, because behind all that sweetness and light they like to be the leaders of whatever is going on without coming right out and saying so. The women can be slaves to fashion to the point where their shoes are hurting their feet and posture and they are running up huge clothing bills. They believe they deserve the best and have no qualms about not keeping to a budget. They know if they need more money, somebody will bail them out. They get very upset if you disagree with them and may accuse you of “screaming” at them, even though you may have just expressed a different opinion. Libra people also like to show off.

Scorpio: Obsessive, Competitive, Secretive

Scorpio people may have the most fixed opinions of all. Disagree with them on something dear to their hearts, and you will be the recipient of the famous “icy glare.” It’s like a death ray. To say they are strong-willed is an understatement. Determination is their middle name. Scorpios are very competitive, although they may not seem that way at first. They cover it well. They are usually secretive, have a dark side, and are obsessed with death. They are possessive and jealous in love relationships. When they are interested in any subject, they will research it so they know every last detail. This is the reason so many of them are research scientists. Many of them are vegetarians or some kind of picky eater, so it is hard to go out with them. Sagittarius: Blunt, Klutzy, Overly Optimistic

There are two kinds of Sag people: the talkative ones and the very quiet ones. They all are intelligent and interested in higher education, philosophy, different cultures, and such. Most of them love to travel. When they do speak, they are very blunt and get right to the point—sometimes not realizing they hurt feelings along the way. They like sports, especially outdoor ones, but are very klutzy and reckless, and often break bones and hurt themselves. They are almost annoyingly optimistic. They are likely to cheat on you. They will get involved in many causes trying to save the world, but they can have so many petitions going and meetings to attend that they get frazzled and exhaust themselves. They are freedom-loving people though, and will not like it if anyone tries to clamp down on their activities or freedoms. Try not to talk about politics or religion with them.

Capricorn: Easily Embarrassed, Ambitious, Social Climbers

Capricorn people are generally serious and will not appreciate it if you are joking around about something that is meaningful to them. They are very ambitious people and may engage in social climbing, so do not be hurt if your Capricorn friend dumps you to hang around with someone who can help them. If they are the principal of a school, they most likely want to be the superintendant of the district one day. If they are going to town meetings to advocate their views, they have their eye on a council seat or the mayor’s job. They are workaholics and do not like to be spontaneous. They do not like to take risks unless they are very well-calculated. Although Capricorns are emotional, they dislike public displays of emotions and will die of embarrassment if you take them out to dinner on their birthday and tell the waiters to bring a cake and sing. They hate to be involved in scenes of any kind. These are people who always think ahead and want to be in charge. Your relationship with a Capricorn will go smoothly as long as you understand they are very ambitious and are always thinking years ahead of everyone else.

Aquarius: Aloof, Uncaring, Annoyingly Nonconformist

Aquarius people are always nonconformists and if you try to tell them what to do, they will act even more outrageous just to annoy you. They love the attention it brings them and are usually living in the future already. If you do not like to try new things and take risks, an Aquarius will be hard for you to understand. Pisces people are the dreamers of the zodiac. As the last sign, they are the most complex people.
